In this class, we’ll explore the magic of combining two amazing mediums—Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer Watercolor Pencils and ART CRAYONS—to create a soft, dreamy children’s book–style illustration.

We’ll begin by coloring our character with watercolor pencils, blending them with water for smooth washes, then layering pencil strokes for extra texture and detail. Next, we’ll use Gelatos with blending tools and brushes to create a seamless, glowing background that makes the illustration feel straight out of a storybook.

This class is all about mixing techniques—watercolor washes, pencil detail, and creamy Gelato blends—to achieve a warm and whimsical result. By the end, you’ll have a delightful hedgehog illustration (or your own cozy critter) that shows off the best of mixed media play.
